Very efficient service. More expensive than other mobility hire but worth it for the home delivery/collection plus lesson on how to use it too. The mobility scooter itself was ideal for my grandma to use whilst we were on holiday. Very simple to use given she’d never used one before, plus the fold up element made it particularly handy.

Amazing service from start to finish! Communication was excellent throughout, and the whole process was easy and hassle-free. The scooter was fully assembled when it was delivered, which was brilliant — everything was done for me and it was ready to go straight away. Fantastic service and a great experience overall. Highly recommend!

We were in London for 10 days. Our son couldn't walk long distances, so we need a wheelchair. We ordered an wheelchair, the communication was good and friendly, delivery was fast and took place at the agreed time. It was very comfortable for him, so he was able to take part of the activities.

Scootmobiel voldoet niet aan I rented a mobility scooter from them back in March. I had to book so early because otherwise, they wouldn't have had any left for July. I paid via PayPal so that if anything went wrong, I could quickly file a complaint and request a refund. On day one, the scooter was supposed to have a range of over 20 km. It didn't. The ad stated 12.5 miles. As a result, on the very first evening, we had to take a taxi back to the hotel costing 111 euros. I immediately informed Adapt-a-Hom at the hotel. They couldn't believe it; they claimed the scooter was brand new. Yeah, right—but what about the costs? They suggested I try it for another day, but it still wouldn't go further than 10 kilometers. I’m not renting this thing for fun; my daughter had to push it back to the hotel under a lot of stress, and together we managed to get it onto the metro. It really ruined what was supposed to be a fun Harry Potter day. This was meant to be a lovely week; unfortunately, I am terminally ill, so making beautiful memories is important to me. I complained to the rental company again. Finally, I spoke to someone who actually took responsibility, and that same afternoon a different scooter arrived—it wasn't foldable, but I didn't care about that. I just wanted it to perform as advertised. This one worked perfectly. I also indicated that I was willing to pay for this, but so far, I’ve received absolutely no response—which is surprising, given all the positive reviews. I hope I get a response now. Excellent customer service. They really work hard to find an available foldable scooter around London for my mom in less than 12 hours. The scooter is very easy and straight forward to use.

We were traveling in London and needed a wheelchair to get around. Ethan was very helpful in every step of the process, from finding what we needed, to delivering to our hotel, and communicating whenever we needed something. The chair was light and easy to deliver. I would highly recommend this company for anyone in London, local or traveling, that needs mobility assistance.

Types of Stairlifts We Supply and Install

We install domestic stairlifts for every staircase configuration, from the most straightforward single-flight of straight stairs to the most difficult staircases with tight bends, multiple turns or narrow widths. Every home stairlift we supply is a modern, electric stairlift with a built-in battery backup system.

Straight Stairlifts

from £1495

A straight stairlift is the right choice for a single-flight staircase with no bends or turns. It is the most affordable stairlift for home use and the fastest to install, typically fitted in 2 to 4 hours. Most standard UK homes have a straight staircase, making this the most commonly installed residential stairlift that we supply.

The straight stairlift is the best stairlift to start with for most homeowners: simple, reliable and available for next-day installation.

Curved Stairlifts

Custom pricing — contact us

A curved stairlift is designed for staircases with bends, turns, intermediate landings or spiral configurations that many providers consider difficult or impossible. Our modular rail system is measured and assembled directly on your staircase, with no lengthy wait for custom-fabricated parts.

Next-day installation is available on curved stairlifts, making Adapt A Home one of the best stairlift companies in the UK for complex staircase solutions.

Narrow Stairlifts

Custom pricing — contact us

Our narrow stairlift is built for tight or compact staircases common in Victorian terraces, older UK homes, and properties where standard chair lifts for stairs would block the passageway. The folding seat, armrests and footrest all fold away automatically when not in use, keeping the staircase clear for other household members.

If your staircase has been identified as difficult for standard stair lifts, our narrow model is the solution to consider.

Electric Stairlifts with Battery Backup

Every stairlift we install is an electric stairlift powered via a standard UK mains socket and kept charged via a rail-mounted charging point. All models include a battery backup system, which means your stair lift continues to operate normally during a power cut. You will never be stranded between floors.

How Much Does a Stairlift Cost in the UK

Stairlift prices in the UK vary depending on the staircase type. Straight stairlifts are the most affordable home stairlift option starting from £1,495. Curved and custom stairlifts are priced based on your specific staircase and the features you need. Our advisor will confirm the exact cost during the free survey.

VAT Relief Available

VAT relief is available if you have a disability or a long-term illness affecting your mobility. This can significantly reduce the overall cost of your home stairlift. Adapt A Home will provide the VAT exemption form and confirm your eligibility at the survey stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm struggling to get up and down the stairs safely, is a stairlift the right solution?

Yes, a stairlift is designed precisely for people who can still walk but find stairs increasingly difficult, painful or unsafe due to age, reduced mobility, arthritis or a health condition. It gives you safe, independent access between floors without climbing a single step and a free home assessment confirms whether it’s the right fit for your home and your needs.

Yes,  At Adapt A Home, our team installs curved stairlifts for staircases with bends, turns or intermediate landings and narrow stairlifts for tight Victorian terraces and compact staircases where standard models would block the passageway. Every installation follows a free home survey and next-day installation is available even on curved and narrow staircases.

Not necessarily. Many standard stairlift companies can only fit straight staircases, but Adapt A Home’s modular ICON UP.Lift system is designed for straight, curved, narrow and spiral configurations, assembled directly on your staircase on-site without waiting for custom-fabricated parts. VAT relief is available for customers with a disability or long-term health condition that affects mobility, which can significantly reduce the overall cost, eligibility is confirmed at the free survey stage.

Straight stairlifts are typically fitted in 2 to 4 hours, with next-day installation available after your free home survey. Yes,  short and long-term straight stairlift rental arrangements are available for situations where buying isn’t the right option, such as temporary recovery or trial periods. Contact our team on 020 8191 3247 to discuss rental availability and terms for your situation.

The modular ICON UP.Lift rail system can be removed cleanly from your staircase without causing damage to stairs or walls and it can be reinstalled in a new property if required. Contact the team to discuss removal or reinstallation options when your circumstances change.
