Our Stairlift Installation Process
We understand that a stairlift is essential mobility equipment to help you address your mobility challenges. Therefore, the design, installation, and commissioning of UP.Lift stairlifts are performed by our trained and experienced stairlift engineers.
The stairlifts are fitted to the stairs, not the wall.
1. PREPARING THE DRAWINGS
This step includes measuring the staircase, determining the exact placement of the rails and considering the specific stairlift model suitable for your stairs. The drawings will take into account any unique features of the staircase, such as turns, landings, or varying widths.
2. PREPARING THE STAIRS
This step involves clearing the staircase of any obstacles, checking the structural integrity of the stairs and reinforcing certain areas if needed. Ensuring that there is enough space for the stairlift to operate without obstruction is crucial.
3. INSTALLING THE RAILS
Accurately measure and mark where the rails will be mounted. Drill holes for the mounting brackets and securely fasten the rails, ensuring they are aligned and level. This provides a stable and smooth path for the stairlift, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
4. INSTALLING THE CHAIR
Mount the chair onto the rails, connect the wiring and adjust the settings for speed and comfort. Test the chair’s movement along the rails, ensuring it moves smoothly and stops accurately at both the top and bottom of the stairs.
5. COMMISSIONING
Perform a series of operational tests to ensure all components work together seamlessly. This includes testing safety features such as the seatbelt, sensors, and emergency stop functions.
6. DEMONSTRATION AND HANDOVER
Provide a comprehensive demonstration of how to use the stairlift, including operating the controls, using the safety features, and what to do in case of a malfunction. We provide the client with manuals, warranty information, and contact details for future support.
